This is my third workshop for the year of 2015 and I must say that it is truly a great start for me.

You guys are awesome and I must write to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have made this event a success. This is another great memorable and unforgotten event in my life. I am finally backed into my core financial field, Looking Beyond Financial Statements – Investor’s Perspective, on Saturday 17th Jan 2015.  I am very encouraged by the level of attendance and engagement that make this event so lively. I am greatly appreciative of the information and feedback you have provided and I have learned lots from you awesome guys too.

You guys are lovely, awesome and made this event so colourful and with this I wish you a great success in life.

I was given this book, The Bullettrain Entrepreneur by Peter Ong, because of being one of the 100 interviewees of it through the author’s friend, who is also my long-time friend since primary school.

I have read it and felt it deserve a review that urges me to write a post on it. It really stimulate my mind to embrace 4Bs; strengthening Belief; overcoming Barriers; pushing Boundaries and crossing Borders. We live in a fast pace of rapidly changing business world that demands us to deliver everlasting change of from all stakeholders, being shareholders, customers; employees, regulators and societies as a whole. This book will provide you a sane, solid and sound framework in sustaining business growth and profitability – new competitive landscape for the new business world.

This book is well crafted with powerful proven illustrations encountered by all of us particularly in Malaysia and the world as a whole, which invite us to give it a serious consideration. Peter Ong does a magnificent and marvellous job for raising, nurturing and nourishing us to adopt and adapt more holistic approach in sustaining our business.

I must confess that I too subscribed to the (5 Ps) by the author i.e. Purpose, People, Process, Performance and Profit in building the foundation of my business model. Overcoming Barriers to gain strength in every aspect, be it physical, mental and spiritual. By shaping ourselves to be adept and to accept the new environment is the surest way of obtaining success. Keep learning, unlearn and relearn to navigate our personalized path to our pre-set destiny. What Peter did extraordinary well is using bullet train as a metaphor to emphasize the “secret” of success among SMEs and entrepreneurs actually comes from the alignment, balancing, and integration of 5 master pillars.

Peter Ong is a positive yet sensible author, illustrating with numerous compelling, convincing and convicting success stories by prominent business entrepreneurs worldwide. By doing so, we are able to see the entire scene through appropriate lens without being side tracked by the complication of the business process.

CHAPTER 1 LIVE LIFE LIKE YOU WILL NEVER REGRET

People always think that the most painful thing in life is losing the one you value. The truth is the most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of valuing someone too much and forgetting that you are special too. Unknowingly, this sound, solid and valid principle has governed my life all this while.

How many of you have regretted that you have not done anything you think you ought to do? If you have, then I like to congratulate you for taking the effort to buy this book. Keep reading and apply whatever you feel comfortable and I can assure you that you will not regret it.

Despite my several temporary setbacks since I was born till date, I never gave in nor gave up. I managed to get through though it seems that there is no way out. You may at a later chapter learn how I rise from these temporary setbacks. I must attribute my achievements through help from those kind souls and people I came across. These temporary setbacks are merely to mold and shape me to the way I wanted. This is because I am a firm believer of I am the creator of my own destiny and everyone has a seed of greatness inside us.

Permit me to brief you a little about my background. I am a product of a migrant from Main Land China and a local lady in Malaysia. My late father had traveled across an ocean from China to marry my mother. Both are illiterate and we were given lots of freedom. Luckily, 5 out of my 7 siblings are university graduates, which made both our parents very proud.

I was born underweight but there is a good reason for it, which you may find out from this book.  I began to start work at a very young age, but this did not deprive me from receiving an Education to break off from the poverty chain. Since then I strive to follow the foot- steps of those great successful people and wanted to leave my foot-prints in others’ hearts so as to repay what they had done for me even though they had never expected anything from me.

I have chosen to live my life like playing a winning chess game many decades ago. I always do my utmost best so that I can be a great contributor to the society which I had benefited from. I managed to maintain my attitude as I began to read lots of motivational book since young, My favorite authors, namely Confucius, Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Charles Dickens taught me to fight all odds to achieve success.

With this positive and profound attitude, it helps me to see things from the positive side of everything no matter what. This attribute made me able to dance in the rains while waiting for the rainbow. That’s easy as it sound. From there, I also learned that tough times never last, but tough people do. Gaining strength from strength to the next level of success is the surest way so long you keep doing it with inner desire. Now, hope you can see it as inside out process. First with the mindset, follow by knowing-doing gap strategy before using tangible tools to make it real. Keep reading if you do not know exactly what I mean and say.

Always remember: - if an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends.

If an egg is broken by inside force, then life begins. Great things happen from the inside.

One thing I also learn is to never despair nor give up.  Keep encouraging yourself immensely no matters what so that it will eventually spark your desire to pursue your dream further. Grow your spirit rather then cut your dreams. Live the life you are capable and do not compromise it. This is because you only have a chance; you either do it Now or Never.

Determination, will power and staying focus on the goals will help you to overcome whatsoever challenge that comes along your life. Just believe it and do it. Have faith and never let your sight let you down. This proven success recipe has provided lots of fruits for me. Keep reading till you are convicted and convinced wholeheartedly.

These positive habits and attitudes will empower you to obtain what you desire in your heart. Keep listening to your inner voice and let it navigate you through the direction of your destiny. Keep practicing. Deliberate Practice does not make you Perfect but Deliberate Practice makes Permanent Progress.

Would you agree that your beliefs determine your actions?

Keep learning, unlearning what you have learned and relearn what is new to you. Get used to it and you will be rest assured to grow with it.

In 2008, I simply quit my overseas job shortly after I obtained my Permanent Residence. What at the time appeared as a bold and irresponsible decision, would soon open doors that would enable me to discover the "Missing Link" in my own life. 

That freed me to enter into one of the most creative and bold periods of my life. Guess what? I WAS venturing into blogging on wealth and health at my late 40s with the intention to bring humanity to the next level of success, becoming a great successful man so that I can leave my foot print in many hearts and souls so as to glorify my Savior. At the time of writing, my blogs have spread its wing to more than 170 countries. Bear in mind, it has and is gaining momentum.

With this blessing, I then discovered my larger purpose of helping people to live life in more fulfilling roles and discovered my hidden potential. 3 Ebooks, namely Better Than The Best, Letting Go and Moving On & Growing Your Wealth Exponentially have been published so far so as to enhance its impact.  Needless to say without your support, my purpose filled life would not have materialized.

From my turbulent life history, I learnt that we dictate our path. Nothing can stop us from achieving our goal so long as we don't give in and give up. We just need to be accountable, decisive, committed; audacious and stay focus as we stride along our life journey.

NOW, I like to sum up the following quotation in the end of the very first chapter of this book:-

May the sun bring you new energy by day,

May the moon softly restore you by night,

May the rain wash away your worries,

May the breeze blow strength into your being,

May you walk gently through the world

and know its beauty all the days of your life.

Hi. This is James Oh. I am trained as a Chartered Accountant cum Legal backgrounds and spent 20 over years in the corporate world. I have gained broad, diversified and extensive experience from growing a private limited company to public listed company. BOOK REVIEW: LEARNING FROM THE MASTER – LIVING A SURRENDER LIFE

I had the pleasure to review a powerful, hand on and practical hand book, Learning From The Master – Living A Surrender Life by Laura J. Davis. We live in times full of uncertainties, fear, doubts and challenges, learning and adopting the value of surrender is nearly impossible if not for God’s grace. This book will provide you the required tools both to overcome fear and gain trust in God simultaneously.

I reviewed this workbook solely without reference to the novel and I receive it as my only remuneration for my independent review.

This is a well-designed workbook, which invite us throughout the book to scrutinize our own lives and dig deeper into our hearts to a new discovery that brings us closer to the Savior. Laura J. Davis does a magnificent job for directing, nurturing and nourishing us in living surrendered lives, based on love and respect.

I subscribe to similar formulae i.e. trust, obedience and submission, to strengthen my faith which was not the case prior to acceptance of Jesus into my life. Through trials and tribulations, God strengthen my faith and caused me to submit to Him voluntarily out of His grace. By knowing my true self deeply and thoroughly, I am able to solve whatever challenge in my life through Christ who strengthens me. This is because there are no challenges, even when combined, larger than Him inside us, provided I surrender to Him.

Laura J. Davis is a firm believer of living a surrendered life, illustrated with numerous compelling and captivating scripture’s stories that truly convinced and convicted me before she raised the relevant and material questions at the end of each chapter. By doing so, we are able to see and connect to this scripture so that we are not side tracked. Here, she relates the real life of Joseph in this context.

"Learning From The Master - Living A Surrender Life" is a practical, hand on work book which serves wide and diverse needs especially for those who want to gain the highest, deepest and broadest perspective on how to live a life surrendered to God. I write in response to your brilliant and noble call, Books Turns into movies and am more than happy to furnish you with the content for your movies production.

In this connection, I write to nominate my book, Letting Go and Moving On. It is based on my real painful story on how I pass heavy loads of unbearable experience to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

It all started when an ambitious young accountant aspired to give the best for his beloved family. He convinced his wife to use a state of art hospital. However, things went obviously wrong, as he was the only key witness to the whole series of event. He eventually turned into helping the midwife to "murder' his own second full grown son by giving in to every objections he raised. This is definitely not the normal him who will tolerate such obvious negligent case that caused a casualty. Due to this long delay, his son was announced dead about 10-20 minutes before a successful operation which saved his wife. Just imagine the patient who cried first and experienced abdominal pains a couple of hours ahead.  

To upheld his promise to his still born son, he took full responsibility and accountability and summon all the involved parties to the court, despite advised not to do so by various parties, including the leading opposition party. However, he pursued the case after obtaining numerous written unsatisfactory replies from the government linked hospital and gynecologist after he put lots of pressure on them. Numerous fruitless private meetings were conducted prior to the domestic inquiry, without the presence of the key witness and external gynecologist. He confronted the chairman and the CEO who initially refused to give him a hearing and instead threaten him with removal by police. He was calm and took up the CEO's challenge. In return, he gave the CEO an ultimatum to reply or he would stay in the hospital until he obtained a satisfactory explanation. The CEO finally agreed to furnish his explanation within seven days thereof.

The hell experience does not end there, but the file was misplaced by the courts. He even instructed his appointed solicitor to reconstruct the file, instead of refiling a fresh case as advised by his solicitor. Knowing this is going to be a tough battle, the author completed a Law degree to standby. He even furnished his findings through his research on medical negligence cases and furnished his solicitor to strengthen his case. Unaware that all these worked against him as his solicitor pulled out to represent him, a day prior to the first hearing of the case. He tried to represent himself, as he had completed his law degree, but was removed.

By then, he got to know Jesus, who had then took over the case from the author.
