BOOK REVIEW ON YOU CANNOT FIND PEACE UNTIL YOU FIND ALL THE PIECES

This is a very amazing book I have just read. I am able to see crystal clear as to how the author was transformed despite having so many unpleasant and undesirable memories. This inspirational personal real story, filled with invaluable lessons, experience and insights really move me from the beginning till the end. I was very fascinated with how the author was being transformed and given the strength to overcome all the obstacles to become a joyful, fulfilled and wise person. This uplifting story also has a strong grounding on faith in God. I must say that this book is a wonderful story about hope, love and forgiveness.

Her writing talents together with her well crafted skills brilliantly and creatively combined, really kept me turning the pages. Her braveness in sharing her ugly and shameful story is worthy of praises. I am deeply delighted to see how she can move so freely to convey Life’s message in such a powerful and insightful manner. Her story is full of expressions and emotion throughout her life - a real great insight as what truly make her better, stronger and wiser. That really drives her to beat herself to achieve greatness. Amazingly well done, I must say. This is a quick and easy read for anyone who loves light reading.

Fortunately, Marie Maiden is not like many of us who have our own gifts and experience but never use them to share with others. She believes in simplicity and was focus through her writing. If the reviews she’s received thus-far are any indication, the world needed it. She uses her talents to reach and teach others.

I received a review copy of the book for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review and no other compensation.

You Cannot Find Peace Until You Find All the Pieces though is a book which provides us with more than one dimension. It can help us view things not only in the physical sense, but also its related God wisdom. And more importantly, how we can apply God's wisdom and live with it. It serves wide and diverse needs especially for those who want to be exposed and learn the highest, positive and broader perspective on life. Don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself.

This book also makes you gain more exposure in Christian values. It may give you a valid solid, profound and sound understanding of life given by the Mighty Loving God.

What I enjoyed most about this book is its fascinating way of conveying Christian values. It reflects the beauty of spreading the amazing little seed in readers' hearts, which is often underestimated. That’s what makes this book truly worth reading.

As you read through the book, you’ll be able to visualise the hardship the author had to go through. This book is not meant to persuade or dissuade you – it’s meant to inform, ingrain and teach the readers in gaining the appropriate perspectives in our daily life.

This book is highly recommended for reading. It is also suitable as a Christmas' and festive gifts. I thought the Title of the book is long, yet Simple, Precise and sum up the whole story.

You Cannot Find Peace Until You find All the Pieces is definitely a noble goal, because it spreads the value of Christianity and prospers them to see things from the positive, profound and appropriate perspective, from God’s perspective through our daily Life. I must say that the reward of its wisdom is far more than your time, energy and money spent. Marvelous! In short, you will be empowered by its wisdom. Through consistent and persistent application by living it in your life is the surest way to ensure that you shine through your life.

This book is also ideal for anyone who feels you had been living life without much meaning and is looking for inspiration to go off on your own, and dislike heavy reading.

Last, but not least, this book would make a lovely valuable and meaningful Christmas present.

All I can say is thank you!

BOOK REVIEW ON AN EASTER BONNET FOR LILY

This children book is a very thoughtful book – simple and joyful story associated with impactful, valuable and powerful messages. This book is amazingly great to build a strong foundation in shaping children’s attitude.

Her writing talents together with her well crafted skills cleverly and creatively combined,  allowed her to convey Life’s message in such a powerful and impactful manner. I was amazed with how her messages are closely associated with Easter festival is so freely, naturally and effectively described. Her story is full of expressions and emotion through simple conversation of spreading across good belief values and hope are remarkable. Amazingly well done, I must say. Through this simple story of hers, readers enjoy care free reading like a pleasant breeze blowing towards the reader. If the reviews she’s received thus-far are any indication, the world needed it. She uses her talents to reach and teach others.

FROM THE CHESS KING TO PURPOSEFUL LIFE

FROM THE CHESS KING TO PURPOSEFUL LIFE

Back in the seventies, there was this little boy in Georgetown, who was born with a big head and handsome face, interestingly he liked engaging in all kinds of mind boggling, creative and imaginative activities!! He neither had many toys with him; nor did he know of any cartoon characters. To him all these were of not much benefit to him.

Very active, adventurous, naive and of course the real description would be “playful”, he was well-known as the chess king among his childhood mates. The name “chess king” was not given but awarded, due to his active participation not only in playing good chess, but always sustaining his number 1 position in his school and residential areas. He even represented his school in individual and team event in the Penang State Chess Competition under 12- category in 1973. The chess activities can be mounted at any time, week day or weekend, so long he has time to do so. He was so persistent that he would steal any of his available time. He even can play solo, by either playing both sides of the players or analyse every possible move of his past game he could remember.  His circle of players could come from players that are more than 5 years older than him. They even organise their own tournaments with their own ranking in mind, but without trophy.

The game would begin with any chess set, regardless whether Chinese or Western form. His standard of playing good chess also deteriorated as he aged. This was because he almost stopped his chess game after he failed to deliver his mentor's expectation in the individual event at the State Chess competition. Today he is still a reasonably good chess player, once in a blue moon he plays at home or in the office!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, yes that is me, James Oh!! I still have a big head with handsome face. Very obvious I am a man with a young heart. I am 52 years old, born 25 Feb; my birthday has just passed. Married with one wife, one daughter, three sons, but one is in heaven.

I come from a “big” family of 6 siblings with 1 girl and 5 boys of which only 1 is single and available, any takers? Dating can be arranged secretly, openly or indirectly.

I am, the only one in the family, with two professional degrees specializing in Accounting and Law. I graduated with my first degree in a local university and second degree from the University of London, UK. I am self-financed since my secondary school through some part time jobs to cover the fees and pocket money. I worked as a lottery seller, tutor, marketing surveyor during my university breaks.

Though it was not easy, I enjoyed these challenges as they shape me stronger, better and tougher. No regrets! Honestly, I appreciated my studies more compared to my other university-mates. I picked things up fast and achieved much greater results. My working experiences allowed me to understand my studies faster, better and deeper. Similarly, I had opportunities to apply my acquired knowledge to gain an edge in any workplace. I love and enjoy whatever challenges, because I do not like routines and am more inclined to think.

I began my very first professional career in 1987 as audit assistant. I learned how to develop audit plans, audit report and assess clients' internal policies and procedures effectiveness. Though I have slightly more than 1 year in the audit field, I gained a name for having most up to date IAS standard, company act whereby I even qualified the audit report due to significant effect on its financial report arising from non compliance of foreign exchange loss, which I was the first person to pick up this issue. I moved to commercial sector due to the denial of the recommended promotion put forward by my immediate superior as I was much junior than other staff in the office. At that time, I had gained a well diverse and broad exposure in the various industries such as Insurance, Manufacturing, Trading, Plantation, Co-operatives and professional firms.

I had spent a short span of my professional life with each company I worked with, except the Aviation company. This did not stop me from contributing significantly to the respective companies. I have proposed a change of accounting policy, from operating lease to finance lease that resulted in the company booking in more than RM two million before its right issues exercise; to generate a million in the form of interest income through managing the treasury more appropriately; eliminate the issuance of official receipt; improve the internal control through extending a copy of Purchase Order without unit price to the store; restructuring of loan to cater for the company's expansion program; to tap public fund through listing exercise in order to obtain cheaper borrowing rate and turn around the company after the financial crisis.

I love to read and travel. Reading and travelling are eye openers for me as I learn and see new things. Hence, I wish to leave my foot print in as many hearts and countries as I could so as to leave a good legacy and to repay those kind souls and people who have touched my life.

I have found an unusual path of re-fire-ment instead of retirement, what I would love to see myself hanging around with my buddies, actively involved in writing, contributing to society and coaching people to live more fulfilling lives.

Therefore, I urge more people to embrace lifelong learning and pass our learned knowledge to the young generation, to have a better tomorrow.

As such, you are strongly encourage to join this Lift you Up community so as it can function as what I have planned one day.

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH ROBIN

About the Author

Robin Leigh Morgan has enjoyed a long career writing commentaries and other nonfiction items, but since retiring Robin has devoted leisure time and acquired skills to the writing of the first of what will be many books. Robin’s debut novel is a Young Adult paranormal romance, complete with elements of time travel and the special first kiss in every girl’s life. Robin believes the blending of these different genres will be endearing to all those who read it, regardless of their  age.

age.

Append below please find the interview with the author, Robin Leigh Morgan.

When did you begin to write?

I actually began to write back in June 1995, where until June 2006 I wrote over 450 commentary type items for a community newspaper.  Along the way I decided to see if I could write something else. I didn’t own a computer back then, but I did have access to one where I wrote my commentaries, and it was on this computer I wrote about two pages a week. Once I got my computer I began to write what I wanted to be a contemporary romance with a paranormal element running through, but I never seemed to get the sense it would be good enough to be read by someone else.  Eventually, someone suggested I write for a younger audience, which how I came to write my debut novel, a YA [Young Adult] Paranormal/Time Travel/First Kiss romance entitled, “I Kissed a Ghost.”

When did you first discover that you were a writer?

It was during the time I wrote my commentaries and my readers told me they like what I write but didn’t always agree with what I had to say. I had no problem with anyone disagreeing with what I had to say, the important thing was I knew people were actually reading what I had to say.

How much did you write before you were published?

I believe I’ve already answered this question in the two answers I gave in the above.

What is your favorite part of writing?

Trying to get into my character’s head, so I would know what they should say or how they should reply to anything that might be said to them,

Tell us about your latest release.

In "I Kissed a Ghost", Mary gets a new classmate named Jonathan who’s a great baseball player and to get on the team, he needs Mary’s help to improve his grades. Six months later when she learns she’s moving, she decides to give him something special--a first kiss. Moving into her new home she soon discovers it has a ghost named George, her age, who takes her on numerous trips to the past of a hundred years ago. As she meets children her own age, everyone teases her about her house being haunted, but no one will go inside. Mary likes his help doing her math homework, writing her reports, and taking her back in time. George and Mary’s interaction grows and she eventually gives him a quick peck on his lips while they’re in the past, which is the only place George is a real boy, for having done something special for her. Can Mary kiss George again at the special date and time he needs to be kissed? What happens afterwards if she does? The answers are all in the book!

Wow! This book sounds really good. Are you planning on writing more in the years to come?

With the self-publication of my debut novel, I’ve gone back to writing the contemporary romance novel I spoke about in one of my other answers. This time, after gaining the experience I’ve learned writing my first novel, I feel more confident I’ll be able to complete writing it in the next few months.

So far what is your worst criticism/attacks, and how have you overcome it?

Criticism and attacks are such harsh words. When it comes from another author, I never take criticism as criticism, I take it has a form of guidance/support from one author to another. Attacks are merely one person’s opinion which comes into conflict with another, during the eleven years I wrote those commentaries I never worried about what people were attacking as it was merely a sign they actually read what I had to say,

What is the accomplishment that you are most proud of?

Getting my debut published, albeit it was self-published, but never the less it was published.

What does your writing process look like?

If you’re asking me whether I’m a plotter or a pantser, I’d probably say a little of both. As I said in the above, I made a skeleton of an outside, writing down the basic plot points I’d like to hit as the story unfolded; and as a sculptor starting with a wire base of what they’d like to have, I added material, then took some away, until I had the finished product I had in mind.

How did you get published?

I didn’t have the patience to go through the routine of writing a query letter, sending it to a specific editor for my genre at a publishing house, and then waiting for a reply. You can only send one letter out at a time for most publishers. If I got a rejection I would then have to start the process all over again. Even if I had received an acceptance letter, I then would have to wait for a response regarding the portion of the manuscript they’d requested.

I decided then to self-publish it. I’ve heard horror stories regarding companies willing to self-publish a book, so I did my research and eventually selected CreateSpace which is a company owned by Amazon.

How do you come up with title of your books?

Selecting a title for a book had been a very challenging experience for me; but after racking my brain over it, I decided to merely summarize the premise for the entire story in as few words as possible until I had something which could be used as the title for my book. Hence, since the story is about a girl [Mary] and her kissing the ghost [George] she had living in her house, the story had to be called, “I Kissed a Ghost.”

Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?

I think I’ve learned about writing and which I included in my debut novel are the numerous hooks it had to keep the reader interested in reading it. When you get to the next to last chapter you feel as if the story has basically come to the end, but it hasn’t because the last chapter has an unexpected twist.

If you’re interested in reading some UNEDITED SNIPPETS from my debut novel, under the category of “GHOSTLY WHISPERS” on any of these blog sites and then consider buying a copy for the little girl in your life.

Tell us your guiding principle that governs your life?

The guiding principle which governs my life is the same principle which governs my writing. You do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. I always like assisting other authors to improve their writing, giving them ideas to market/promote their books. etc

How have you cultivated these values?

Knowledge is useless unless it is shared. And sharing comes back to how should people treat each other.

Do you have any advice for writers looking to get published?

The most important thing to do, especially if you’re going the self-published route is making sure you manuscript has been professionally proofread/edited.  And even if this is done, there will be times where even a professional editor might miss something.

Where can we find your book?

My book is available on Amazon.com
